After two years of price fluctuations in the maritime transport came the last quarter of 2021, with figures indicating that, by the end of that hike might stop. But it was not so.
International trade, lived two years of adjustments, changes in prices, locks, and other many difficulties since the start of the pandemic. And now joined by new factors that threaten to prolong the crisis in the global exchange of goods.
So said Victor Benavidez, Country Manager of Tiba, during the resumption of the breakfast conference National council of Executives in Logistics and Supply Chain (Conalog).
In the thematic meeting Challenges and Trends of the Supply Chain by 2022the executive of the company specialized in international freight he stressed that many logistics were excited by the arrival of a panorama more stable this year after a dozen months turbulent.
“We started the year with a story that continues to represent a challenge for the sector: the lack of containers. Many companies in Europe have had to refrain from sending product or change the ship to the railway. The pandemic forced them to change their strategy and the supply chain and when it seemed that they could return to old practices this happened,” he said.
He added that some companies made modifications to their supply chain migrate the maritime transport in the railway. “There is a major network from China to Europe, and when they began to integrate it turns out that these machines come by Russia”.
